I ADORE YOU!!!!

Yes it's true! I do! Adore you that is. That's what this card says. It is a very simple card done with White CS (georgia pacific), some really pretty ribbon from Michaels, an embossing folder (sissix), and a labels die (spellbinders).  Anyway....simple, simple. Just scored in about 3 1/2 " (oops....forgot to mention the scorepal I used for this) and then ran the card front through the sissix big kick with the large dots embossing folder just up to the score line. Wrapped the ribbon (about a 12" length) around this front piece. Tied the bow, adhered with scor-tape (love this product too!!) And then stuck the whole thing to the front of the card base.I then stamped "I adore you "(from Close to my Heart set) with red ink. Cut that out on the big kick with a spellbinders die and bodda bing, bodda boom! Done!Well....not quite, I popped the sentiment up using pop dots (Michaels again....one of my fave hangouts! But not before adding some small white brads to the ends. So whaddya think? I had fun with this one...if you want to make it more elegant, clean and simple....just use white ribbon and maybe black ink for the sentiment. Or no sentiment. Whatever curls your toes. That's what I like about crafting...it's all about what YOU like! So that's today's edition...till next post, toodles...Edie

Fully re-covered!!!

A dear friend and neighbor recently had some surgery and I thought I would fling together a fun get well card. It's more of a speedy recovery card, hence the sentiment. I had seen this done a few times in different magazines by some truly talented card makers, so I have to admit it....I copied !!! But I do think it's a fun card and I am fairly certain that he will too!The stamp I used for the chair image is from Close to my Heart and I was really dying to ink it up! The set is called "Chairs to you". The CS is Georgia Pacific. The image was colored using colored pencils and gamsol. The DP is from American Crafts. And the ribbon....I don't know....again found in the attic. Funny, but you never know what lurks about up there...Hmmm.I used spellbinders ovals and 2 labels sets(sorry, can't remember labels #). The sentiment is computer generated. The whole shootin' match went together pretty quick...which is how speedy I hope my friends' recovery is!So...if you likee....I am happy! Now, go cover yourselves in happiness! See you soon....Edie P.S. I forgot to mention that the image is also paper pieced with a small scrap of some Hobby Lobby paper (paper company). Although, the rest of the chair is colored in with pencils & gamsol.( Sorry about that....details, details tsk tsk.)

Puppy Love!

Well....techno-junkie that I am NOT! I hope this picture is a decent one. I need to hone my skills with photo uploads, but that being said, I hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it. My dear friend M, and her hubby adopted a new little girl. Her name is Allie and she is ADORABLE! So to help welcome little Allie, I thought I would make a card that is both fun and colorful as I think new puppies are. The image is actually a cute $1 stamp from Michaels . The card stock is from Close to my Heart. The DP is from a paper stack, from DCWV. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and the small brads from a stash I had laying around the attic. Same with the pins. The inside sentiment reads: "There is nothing better than to end a bad day covered in dog slobber." Appropriate...No? I hope my friends like it. There will also be included with this card, a few goodies for Miss Allie, and lots of puppy hugs! So, there it is. Hope this passes muster. I am still a work in progress....but I think I'm getting there! Enjoy....hugs and puppy love, Edie

The smartphone isn't as smart as I had hoped!!!!!!

So here we are blog fans....it's Wednesday night and I have zero pics posted of my cards! WHY? Because I am fighting with my technology!! I took some (what I thought) excellent photos using my android phone....then tried to send them to myself to post here. However, I have gone terribly wrong somehow. Now I know that I am the WORST when it comes to technology, but this seemed so simple when explained to me by my son, husband, and sadly, yes, myself. I was so sure I could handle it! But.... no dice! So here is the plan, I am taking photos again tomorrow morning with a "real" camera and uploading the old-fashioned way in hopes to get this stuff on the blog!!!! $###!**! And with any luck at all we should be back on schedule. Looks like maybe a beginner course in computer or better yet,any technology, would be great!! Who knew this would be so difficult! But please bear with me...I am NOT giving up! So stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed! Tomorrow I have proof that I have been upstairs in the attic putting my creative gears in motion! And I hope that I don't disappoint you! Till then....thanks so much for your patience, understanding and your kind refrain from snickering! I bid you all a good night and hope that you saved enough "birthday" Oreos to get us through another blog delay.Till Thursday (no time is scheduled, due to technological issues) my friends....Toodles, Edie

Return of the Crazy Blogger

WOW! Well it has been a VERY long time since anyone has seen any activity on this blog!So here is a new start with an attempt to stick with it and hopefully provide some entertainment and maybe even some creative inspiration.Life has been pouring it on thick this past year with all kinds of happenings.... new job, no job, new job,new additions to the family, weddings, creative blocks,no job again, and lack of time to do the fun stuff. But, as of today, I am trying to turn over a new leaf and dive back into the creative pool! I have really missed being here and hope that I can live up to your expectations....(all two of you that are keeping up with this blog right now, everyone else ditched after the last go around.) ! So here goes....Hi there blog fans! Hope life is treating you well these days and that you are ready for some new cards and hopefully not too boring blog entries! I am planning on uploading a few new projects tomorrow via my new smart phone, since my camera pooped out on me and isn't anywhere near as reliable as I thought it was. There have been lots of reasons for making cards these last few months and even this week holds a pretty high demand. Some funny, some classic (or as classic as I get, anyway) and some just plain fun.....so if you can hold on for one more day....(who sang that song? do you remember?)Wednesday should offer you a glimpse of what's going on around here lately. And I plan on NOT disappointing any of you, so have a great Tuesday night...celebrate with some Oreo 100th birthday celebration cookies and a glass of ice cold milk, cause tomorrow is another day, and I WILL be back!!!! Toodles till tomorrow.....Edie
